Yea, you should. I mean, you really, really should. The movie excels at taking a literary work and transforming it into a movie. Granted Zach Snyder had visuals from the book as reference, but most of the movie it looked like he just grabbed the comic book panels and threw them on the screen. Even if you haven’t read the book, Watchmen is unlike any comic book movie you have ever seen. Heavy back stories and character development are what drive the movie but the crisp visuals make it easy on the eyes. The action scenes are some of the most hard hitting I’ve seen in a while but they don’t over use them. Between Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen, Zach Snyder gets the Oscar for best blood in movies. Any who, go see Watchmen, in fact, go see it twice because I guarantee you’ll get more out of it the second time.
