Have an iPhone? Want to play the best game out for the iPhone? Of course you do. Metal Gear Solid Touch was released last week for the iPhone and it is awesome. Of course I am biased, so what? Metal Gear Solid is awesome. The iPhone is awesome. How can the combination notbe awesome? It’s a bit expensive for an iPhone app ($7.99) but worth it. You get to shoot your way through 6 different levels right now, but in a few weeks Konami will release more levels for free.

The game itself is the most beautiful game I’ve seen on the iPhone yet. I can’t tell if the background of the game is an actual 2D image or if Konami has rendered out all that geometry. Either way it’s gorgeous. The controls are fluid and responsive. You double tap the screen to shoot enemies and use the iPhone’s zoom in function to zoom in the game. Of course, MGS:Touch isn’t a terribly deep game. It’s basically a shooting gallery type of game. But as far as I am concerned any MGS is a good MGS. Now that I can play MGS while taking a poo is better than thinking about playing MGS while taking a poo.
